Goodmans Court Hendon Wireless Fire Alarm System
We have just completed a new fire alarm system at Goodmans Court in Hendon, working for Lightning Safety Systems on behalf of Peabody. The system protects 43 HMO dwellings and the car park. It runs on two Advanced MxPro 5 two loop panels with Hyfire Taurus wireless devices throughout.
Why Wireless Works in Occupied Homes
Goodmans Court is a lived in building. Residents stay at home while the work goes on, so every day of cabling through flats means disruption, dust and redecoration. Hyfire Taurus wireless devices remove most of that. Each detector and sounder talks by radio to a translator module wired back to the loop, so the only cabling sits in the common areas. Residents get a fully addressable system with far less time spent inside their homes.
What We Did
• Set up two Advanced MxPro 5 two loop panels to cover the dwellings and the car park
• Configured the Hyfire Taurus translator modules and paired every wireless device
• Checked radio signal strength at each device so every link is reliable
• Tested every detector and sounder and checked its location text on the panel
• Programmed and proved the cause and effect across the building
• Checked standby batteries and handed over the certificates, zone plan and logbook
Working With Contractors and Housing Providers
We worked for Lightning Safety Systems to deliver a compliant, certified system for Peabody and its residents. If you run housing stock or contract on it, wireless fire alarms give you a fast, low disruption route to proper protection in occupied buildings.
